In-House Powertrain Calibration
The 2015 model year marks the final P1 deliveries, the last chapter of McLaren's first hypercar. These final-build examples received the most refined manufacturing tolerances and component specifications of the entire 375-unit run. The M838TQ 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 combined with the 176 HP electric motor delivers 903 HP and 664 lb-ft of total system output.
Stage 1 adds up to 90 HP and 100 lb-ft to the combustion engine, elevating combined output to approximately 993 HP and 764 lb-ft. Stage 1 only, the P1's hybrid integration requires precise calibration harmony between the ICE and electric motor that limits safe tuning scope.
All calibrations are developed for 91 octane and 93 octane fuel. Custom calibrations are available for 100 octane or other race fuels. ECU map switching is available to preserve the factory map. Antilag is offered to complement the electric motor's torque fill with continuous turbo spool.
