The 2020 McLaren GT takes a fundamentally different approach to the McLaren lineup, it's a grand touring car designed for comfort, long-distance capability, and everyday usability. Beneath its elegant body sits the M840TE, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 612 HP and 465 ft-lbs, detuned from the Super Series M840T for a softer, more refined power delivery. This software-based detuning means the engine has substantial headroom for safe ECU recalibration.
Our Stage 1 calibration for the 2020 GT adds +68 HP and +80 TQ, bringing total output to approximately 680 HP and 545 ft-lbs. We optimize boost pressure and ignition timing while preserving the smooth, linear power delivery that makes the GT special as a grand tourer. The improvement is elegant: stronger highway overtaking ability, more responsive acceleration from a cruise, and a fuller mid-range that makes the car feel more effortless at speed. Stage 2 delivers 697 HP and 595 TQ with additional torque gains that complement the GT's touring character. All calibrations optimized for 93 octane, with ECU map switching available. Developed in-house by Mega 3 Performance.
