In-House Powertrain Calibration
The McLaren 765LT is the Longtail evolution of the 720S, lighter by 80 kg, more aerodynamic, and with a heavily revised M840T 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 755 HP and 590 ft-lbs of torque. McLaren increased power through optimized turbocharger control, a titanium exhaust system, and a lighter flywheel for faster engine response. Despite the higher factory output, the M840T's robust bottom-end design provides a safe foundation for additional power through ECU recalibration.
Our Stage 1 calibration for the 2020 765LT adds +125 HP and +115 TQ, bringing total output to approximately 880 HP and 705 ft-lbs. We push the 765LT's upgraded hardware closer to its mechanical limits by optimizing boost pressure, ignition advance, and fuel delivery across the full RPM range. Combined with the 765LT's weight reduction, these gains make the car extremely fast, acceleration is visceral and track performance improves measurably. Stage 2 pushes to 920 HP and 750 TQ. Antilag and ECU map switching add further versatility. Developed in-house by Mega 3 Performance with 500+ McLaren calibrations to our name.
