As the final production year for the 720S, the 2023 model carries McLaren's most refined version of the M840T 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 710 HP and 568 ft-lbs. Our extensive experience with this platform, spanning every model year from 2018 onwards, has allowed us to develop what we consider the definitive Stage 1 and Stage 2 calibrations for the 720S.
Stage 1 unlocks +125 HP and +115 TQ for a total of approximately 835 HP and 683 ft-lbs. Our calibration takes advantage of the 2023's latest factory software baseline to safely push boost pressure, ignition timing, and fuel delivery beyond the conservative factory limits. The result is a 720S that accelerates with the violence of a hypercar while maintaining the daily drivability McLaren engineered into the platform. Stage 2 pushes to 875 HP and 728 TQ, truly extraordinary output from a twin-turbo V8. Our antilag system adds explosive turbo response for track events, and ECU map switching provides instant stock-mode reversion when needed. Every tune is developed and validated in-house at Mega 3 Performance, backed by 500+ McLaren projects and 15+ years of calibration expertise.
