In-House Powertrain Calibration
McLaren expanded the 570S range significantly by 2018 with the Spider variant in full production. The M838TE 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 562 HP and 443 lb-ft in both body styles, and tuning gains apply equally regardless of roof configuration. The Spider's additional structural weight makes the performance increase from tuning feel even more worthwhile.
Stage 1 calibration adds up to 80 HP and 80 lb-ft, bringing output to approximately 642 HP and 523 lb-ft.
Stage 2 delivers up to 105 HP and 100 lb-ft over stock, reaching roughly 667 HP and 543 lb-ft.
All calibrations are developed for 91 octane and 93 octane fuel. Custom calibrations are available for 100 octane or other race fuels. Optional add-ons include ECU map switching for convenient toggling between maps and antilag for sharper turbo response during spirited driving.
