In-House Powertrain Calibration
By 2013, the McLaren 12C had matured into a genuinely competitive supercar. McLaren continued refining the M838T 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 at 592 HP and 443 lb-ft, while also improving the SSG dual-clutch gearbox with faster shift algorithms. The result is a more complete car that takes particularly well to ECU calibration work.
Stage 1 adds up to 80 HP and 80 lb-ft, bringing output to approximately 672 HP and 523 lb-ft.
Stage 2 calibration unlocks up to 105 HP and 100 lb-ft over stock, totaling roughly 697 HP and 543 lb-ft. Both stages are software-only, requiring no hardware modifications, the gains come from optimizing the engine management parameters that McLaren left conservative from the factory.
All calibrations are developed for 91 octane and 93 octane fuel. Custom calibrations are available for 100 octane or other race fuels. Optional ECU map switching lets you toggle between stock and performance maps. Antilag is available for track-day use.
